When working on the bus in the summer I like to have the back door open to get some air flow but I don't want the back up lights to stay on. I made this block to hold the switch in the off position to keep the lights off.
I have noticed that Blue Birds have the cover for the rear door switch bent often and may need to be put back into place for this tool to work right.
I found our 2024 buses needed a longer one. they are all gas and I am looking into seeing if that is the difference but the new tool works with both the old and new ones.
WARNING: this is for when the bus is parked and should NEVER be used when the bus is moving or has kids on board.
I also prop the door open so it can't swing back and hit the tool. if the door hits the tool its possible it will bust the door switch. The prop does not come with this and can be made with some local supplies.
CLIMATE NOTE: This is printed in PLA plastic which is known to warp in higher temperatures or become brittle when exposed to UV light. If your car is in a hot climate and in the sun, the high temperatures (>125℉) and direct sunlight could warp this adapter or cause it to break. This particularly applies to places like Phoenix, Southern California, etc. where temperatures regularly reach into the 100℉. An average "hot" summer day in Minnesota, or Wisconsin, or New York could also warp these if your car sits in the sun!
This product is 3D printed. Due to the nature of 3D printing, there may be a seam, layer lines, and/or small imperfections.
Washing instructions: Hand wash only with cool, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
